A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EGYPTIAN
|
The population of ancient Egypt was divided into groups of people with different jobs and responsibilities to society. At top of the social structure was the pharaoh, followed by the viziers, nobles, and priests. These two groups were the most powerful and wealthy. In the middle were the scribes and soldiers. At the very bottom of the Egyptian social classes, were unskilled worker, farmers, and slaves. Watch the following video to learn more. |
Today, you are required to focus on the nobles and the famers. Take note that the noblemen are ranked higher in social classes than the farmers, who are at the very bottom. Throughout your research, you will be required to complete a Venn diagram to help organize information. You will then use the Venn diagram you created to help you create a journal entry, from the perspective of an Egyptian of your choice.
1. Go to the following Website.
2. Read about a nobleman’s family. 3. Read about a farmer’s family. 4. Create a Venn diagram. 5. Use the Venn diagram and create a simulated journal entry. You are to assume the role of either a nobleman or a farmer. The journal entry should be typed and include at least three things your learned about their lifestyle. |
